Being a fan of coffee, Starbucks energy coffee, and most recently a Monster M80 drink, I was sure I’d love this Java Monster.
I picked up two cans – Loca Moca and Mean Bean. I used them to keep myself alert during a 9 hour drive.
First, taste. It was pitiful! The coffee taste was awful and artificial, so I don’t know how any coffee drinker would enjoy this. The energy drink part wasn’t that noticeable, which just goes to show you how bad the coffee flavor was.
Second, the kick. I had to have two cans of this in one hour to actually notice an energy boost. There really wasn’t much of a boost. I would need probably four of these large cans to equate to one small can of Starbucks Double Shot Espresso.
Luckily I wasn’t doing a late night drive, or else I’d have needed to stop for a real energy drink.
The price was under $2, which wasn’t bad, except it was a complete waste of $2 based on the lame flavor and measly energy boost.
